Dingpot is Gruntilda's magic cauldron, whom she abuses terribly. He made his first appearance in Banjo-Kazooie, at the beginning and at the end. At the beginning of Banjo-Kazooie, Dingpot informs Gruntilda that Tooty is more beautiful than her. This leaves Gruntilda to kidnap Tooty and start Banjo and Kazooie on their adventure. Dingpot isn't seen in any other part of the game until Banjo and Kazooie reach him at the top of Gruntilda's Lair, where he changes and decides to help the two heroes. He then allows Banjo and Kazooie to jump inside him so they will be transported to the roof of Gruntilda's Lair for the final battle.
In Banjo-Tooie, Dingpot resides in Cauldron Keep, and is not seen in any other parts of the game. Instead of transporting Banjo and Kazooie to the final fight, he gives them a special 'Dingy' Bonus, which is specifically refilling their eggs and feathers.
